GMDSS General Operator’s Certificate (GOC) Renewal
Purpose and Course Content:
Renewal of the General Operator’s Certificate (GOC) for radio operators in the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).
The course concludes with an individual oral examination. Participants are assessed on a pass/fail basis. The examination lasts approximately 45 minutes. A passing result is required in order to renew and obtain the certificate.
Entry Requirements/Target Group:
The course is intended for individuals wishing to renew or revalidate a previously issued certificate.
To participate in the course, participants must:
Hold a valid GOC certificate, which must be presented at the examination.
Duration:
Self-study combined with 1 day of classroom instruction, concluding with an examination.
Notes:
Upon passing the examination, participants may apply for certificate renewal through the website of the Danish Maritime Authority.
The course is conducted partly in English, and all training materials are provided in English.
The course is conducted in accordance with:
Executive Order No. 939 of 29 August 2011 on radio examinations and certificates in GMDSS
The standards set out in the International Maritime Organization STCW Code, Section A-IV/1, regarding radio operators

The course concludes with an individual oral examination. Participants are assessed on a pass/fail basis. The examination lasts approximately 45 minutes. A passing result is required in order to obtain the certificate.

The course is intended for individuals wishing to obtain a radio operator certificate for service on vessels operating in all sea areas.
To participate in the course, applicants must:
Be at least 18 years of age.

10 days (2 weeks)

Upon passing the examination, participants may obtain the certificate by applying through the website of the Danish Maritime Authority.
